Dr. Liu Liu, who is a Research Fellow at the AI Centre for Educational Technologies (AICET), received the Best Presentation Award at the 8th International Conference on Educational Technology Management (ICETM 2025), held in Guangzhou, China, from 7 to 9 November 2025.

Her presentation, “The Educator as an Embedded AI Designer: Faculty Agency in Generative AI-Enhanced Pedagogy,” explored how educators can actively shape generative AI systems to enhance learner agency and reflective teaching. Dr. Liu shared three collaboration cases with NUS faculty in nursing, law, and computer science, illustrating how educators can embed pedagogical intent into AI systems through the ScholAIstic platform, which was developed by AICET to support human–AI co-design for teaching and learning. Conference organizers praised the presentation for its clarity, originality, and strong theoretical grounding, highlighting its contribution to advancing the future of AI-supported education.

This recognition highlights AICET’s commitment to advancing research and innovation at the intersection of pedagogy, design, and artificial intelligence, and to supporting educators in shaping meaningful, human-centered uses of AI in higher education.
