AICET Shares Vision of AI in Education with Korea’s NHI

Mr. Jonathan Chen, Deputy Director (Engineering) at AICET, on December 5, 2025, hosted a six-member delegation lead by Ms Bak Hyeseon, Deputy Director at the National Human Resources Development Institute (NHI) of Korea for a detailed discussion on the future of AI in education.

Kicking off the presentation, Mr. Jonathan Chen emphasized a core philosophy: while AI is fundamentally unable to replace teachers, especially the human aspects of nurturing, AI still stands as a powerful tool for the true realization of personalized and customized education. He then showcased AICET’s advancements by detailing several models developed by the institute and demonstrating their practical utility within the National University of Singapore (NUS) and local schools in Singapore.

A central highlight of the visit was the showcase of ScholAIstic, an innovative Learning Management System (LMS). ScholAIstic leverages Large Language Models (LLMs) to create immersive, role-playing conversations designed for enhanced learning. He invited the delegates to experience this system first-hand.

During the demonstration, which utilized a customized Korean-based scenario, the NHI participants actively engaged in creating realistic dialogues tailored to their specific professional fields in Korea. This hands-on session offered significant insight into the system’s potential for application beyond traditional academic settings.

He concluded his presentation by reiterating a key principle driving AICET’s work: “Innovation in education is not a technology problem. It’s a pedagogy problem.”

The visit culminated in a comprehensive Q&A session focused on future strategic planning. The delegates inquired specifically about AICET’s strategies for ongoing AI development and implementation, covering critical areas such as budgeting, organizational structure, and identified challenges.

Through Singapore’s advanced case studies in AI application, this fruitful time provided the NHI delegates with valuable insights. They gained a clearer perspective on how to adapt to changes more quickly and easily. Ultimately, the session offered significant inspiration for the NHI, particularly on the effective application of similar AI tools in the their respective fields in Korea.
