On 14 January 2026, a delegation of 80 supervisors and teachers from the Busan Metropolitan City Department of Education in South Korea visited AICET. This visit provided a meaningful platform for the delegation from Busan to broaden its “Future Education” indicators and redefine its strategic direction by benchmarking Singapore’s advanced AI pedagogical models.

Emphasizing the Urgency of Educational Adaptation
During the session, Prof. Ben Leong delivered a powerful presentation under the theme “Students have changed”. Rather than focusing solely on technology, he emphasized the urgent necessity for educators to adapt with agility to the evolving reality of the classroom.
He highlighted that as students change—driven by shifting wealth, parenting styles, societal norms, and the ubiquity of advanced AI tools—teaching methods must evolve accordingly. Prof. Ben Leong shared AICET’s “Pedagogy First” philosophy, showcasing how competency-based AI applications are being practically integrated into diverse fields such as Social Work, Nursing, Law, and Teaching & Learning Technologies to enhance student training through scaffolded learning experiences.

Bridging Innovation: From SLS to Busan’s Vision
A major highlight of the visit was the intense interest in Singapore’s Student Learning Space (SLS). The Busan delegates engaged in a robust Q&A session, exploring how integrated online communication platforms can foster a seamless educational ecosystem.
This exchange underscored that Prof. Ben Leong’s call for educational evolution resonates deeply with Busan’s commitment to “Student-friendly AI Education” and “Education to Cultivate Future Capabilities”. This collaboration marks a significant step toward building a future-ready educational environment for both Singapore and Busan, South Korea.
