On 9 Apr 2026, AICET hosted a distinguished delegation from Mexico, including five school leaders and two representatives from the Mexican Embassy. Led by Ms Lourdes Ibanex Aldana—the visionary Founder of Education Makeover Global Schooling—the group represented the ‘Innovative Learning Leaders’ community, united by a shared commitment to transforming education through AI and forward-thinking pedagogies.
The session opened with a presentation by Prof Ben Leong, who reflected on the global educational shifts following the COVID-19 pandemic and provided an overview of AICET’s journey from 2021 to the present. Drawing on Singapore’s experience as a pioneer in integrating AI into education, he highlighted key insights into the efficiency and effectiveness of AI adoption in schools. Addressing common concerns surrounding digital tools, he emphasized a crucial perspective: “Tech problems are easy. The hard problems are the people problems.” He reaffirmed that teachers must remain at the heart of educational transformation.

Aligned with the delegation’s interests in STEM, AI integration, and innovative teaching practices across early childhood and K-12 education, the session explored AICET’s research frameworks, implementation strategies, and approaches to supporting educators in adopting AI meaningfully. The discussion also provided valuable insights into designing impactful, AI-driven learning experiences tailored to diverse educational contexts.
This visit marked a meaningful exchange of ideas and perspectives, offering practical and forward-looking directions for the future of education in Mexico. AICET looks forward to continued collaboration and knowledge sharing with global partners committed to shaping the future of learning.
