Incheon Delegates’ Second Visit on AI Integration in Education
On 5 November 2024, AICET hosted a delegate from South Korea’s Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education Science & Information Institute. This marks their second visit to AICET and to NUS. The delegate hoped to gain insights about Singapore’s effort to integrate AI in education, and to explore future directions for educational technology. Visit by SEAMEO INNOTECH to Strengthen Educational Technology Collaboration
On 4th November 2024, AICET welcomed delegates from the Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organisation (SEAMEO) INNOTECH, who visited us all the way from the Philippines. The meeting opened with an overview of AICET’s mission and projects, as presented by Jonathan Sim, Assistant Director (Pedagogy). From there, we had a fruitful discussion on potential joint initiatives that AICET and SEAMEO INNOTECH could explore together next year. This visit reaffirms our commitment to enhance educational technology across Southeast Asia.

Visit by Korean Delegation to Explore AI Innovations in Education
On 29th October 2024, AICET hosted a delegate of educators from the Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education Science & Information Institute, Korea. The visit aimed to deepen their understanding of AI integration in Singapore’s education system and explore future directions for AI and educational technology. Associate Professor Ben Leong, Director of AICET, introduced AICET’s mission and showcased its AI EdTech products. Teachers from the delegate expressed interest in Cikgo and SoftMark, and they are keen to explore potential applications of our products within Korea’s education system. Building Bonds Beyond the Office
On October 27, 2024, AICET organised a team outing to strengthen connections and celebrate everyone’s hard work. Seven team members enjoyed an afternoon exploring the National Museum of Singapore and the Fort Canning Bunker. This outing aimed to foster teamwork, encourage open communication, and reinforce AICET’s positive workplace culture. The outing provided a relaxed setting for team members to learn more about Singapore’s history, sparking engaging conversations and building stronger bonds. With outings like these, AICET remains committed to creating a connected, supportive work environment where meaningful relationships thrive and contribute meaningfully to our projects.

SoftMark Team Receives Appreciation from Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Secondary School (KCPSS)
AICET’s SoftMark Team was honoured to receive an appreciation plaque from Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Secondary School (KCPSS) at the HOPE: Honouring Our Partners event on 19 October 2024. This award recognises the significant contributions of the SoftMark Team in improving the efficiency of their teachers. SoftMark is an innovative platform that digitises exam scripts, enabling concurrent online marking by teams of teachers anytime, anywhere. AICET (AI Centre for Educational Technologies), a leading innovator at the intersection of AI and education, proudly announces the impressive achievement of its software engineers, Phillmont and Jonathan, who clinched 4th place at Huawei Tech4City 2024 Competition. Additionally, the team also won the Swan & Maclaren Social Impact Award, sponsored by the Swan & Maclaren Group. Competing against 83 other teams, their project Cikgo stood out for its innovative approach to using AI for inclusivity and sustainability.
