On 20 April 2026, the AICET team held research meetings with the Tsinghua University School of Education under the existing MOU between the two institutions. The teams exchanged updates on current work, including AICET’s GetHelp and SoL NUS Trial projects and Tsinghua’s OpenMAIC (Massive AI-empowered Courses) platform, and discussed concrete next steps for jointly building a shared benchmark to study student learning behaviour in AI-mediated education. The visit reflects AICET’s continued commitment to international collaboration on pedagogy-first innovation in higher education.

The team also visited XuetangX, the Tsinghua-incubated online learning platform, to exchange views on large-scale learning analytics and the practical deployment of AI tutors. In the afternoon, Prof Ben Leong was invited to speak at the “Teaching in the AI Era” seminar series (AI时代的课程教学系列研讨), with this session focused on programming language courses. He shared NUS’s teaching experience and insights from the AICET GetHelp project, and discussed whether programming curricula should be redesigned to build genuine problem-solving capability in an AI-rich environment.
Both AICET and Tsinghua look forward to deepening this partnership through the joint benchmark and future exchange visits.
