On 30 September 2025, a delegation from Universidad Adolfo Ibañez (UAI), Chile, led by Provost Soledad Arellano, visited the NUS Artificial Intelligence Institute (NAII) and the AI Centre for Educational Technologies (AICET). The 12-member delegation—comprising members of the university’s deanery, directors, and professors—was accompanied by Ms Nicole Ledoux Vargas, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Chile in Singapore.

The visit was co-hosted by Prof Mohan Kankanhalli, Director of the NUS Artificial Intelligence Institute (NAII) and Deputy Executive Chairman of AI Singapore, and Assoc Prof Ben Leong, Director of the AI Centre for Educational Technologies (AICET), and Chief Data Officer at AI Singapore.
Across a series of discussions, participants exchanged ideas, shared best practices, and explored common priorities in applying AI to teaching and learning, advancing research, and fostering industry partnerships. The visit formed part of UAI’s Strategic Artificial Intelligence Mission to Singapore, aimed at understanding developments in AI within postgraduate education and research, including ethical considerations, implementation challenges, and lessons from local universities.

Assoc Prof Ben Leong demonstrated AICET’s ScholAIstic, an AI-driven platform designed to enhance real-world skills through thoughtfully designed, domain-specific simulated scenarios.
The engagement underscored the global appeal and impact of NAII and AICET’s initiatives and highlighted opportunities for continued collaboration between UAI and NUS in the AI ecosystem.
Following the visit, UAI expressed keen interest to collaborate with AICET, and both parties are planning to sign an MOU.
